Introducing New Horizon Homes: Embarking on Our Next Chapter
Today is a day Lydia and I have been waiting on for some time. Finally, after all this time working diligently behind the scenes, we are so proud to roll out our new company, NEW HORIZON HOMES. Where do I begin? New Horizon Homes represents so much to my family and me. This is truly the culmination of a lot of hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
Entrepreneurship is something that is in my blood; it always has been. Throughout my career, I have been incredibly fortunate to work with so many great people across different industries. Growing up, I got my start in the food and beverage industry. From there, I was privileged to spend almost ten years in various positions with the Federal and Provincial Governments. It was around that time I decided to take my first venture into entrepreneurship when my friend and I purchased a restaurant and put our skills to the test. That was such a profound turning point in my career as it gave me a real appreciation for what goes into running your own business. Here I thought I would get more free time being “The Boss,” but soon found out that being in charge meant you had to outwork everyone else. To be honest, I wouldn’t have it any other way. After this endeavor, I broke into the real estate world, working in office leasing and sales. Five years later, I was very fortunate that someone took a chance on me, and I had the opportunity to enter the world of new home construction.
Being a part of this industry for the last decade has truly been life-changing. Although there are always ups and downs, undoubtedly the highs outweigh the lows. I had the opportunity to be mentored by two individuals who, in my humble opinion, are people we should all strive to be like. During this time, I was exposed to so much, and each day I had the privilege of being part of a dynamic team. I’ve worked with some of the best staff, developers, and trades partners you can imagine. As I faced the prospects of what I wanted to do next, it became very clear to me, new home construction is where my heart is. Taking my passion for this industry and sprinkling in that entrepreneurial spirit, New Horizon Homes was born.
This company represents so much; for starters, the name says it all. This is a New Horizon, and looking out into the distance, I have the opportunity to chart my own path. Our company tagline, “Your Journey Begins,” is just as true for me as it is for our homeowners. This is the beginning of something very exciting, and I welcome you all to come on this journey with us. Most importantly, this is a time where Lydia and I can thank everyone who has been so instrumental in turning our passion into a reality. There are too many people to name, but know, without you, I don’t know if we would have been able to take this next step. The amount of community, connection, friendship, and support we have received, past and present, has truly been profound. I feel an immense sense of gratitude and appreciation for all those who have been part of this journey and welcome you all to join us as we venture into this New Horizon!
Today, we are officially stepping into the ring as Edmonton’s newest builder! With an unmatched sense of determination and focus, we can’t wait to share all that is to come with New Horizon Homes. Today, the journey truly begins.
